AI & Positioning
AI Trust &
Retrieval Sprint
Before buyers ever speak to you, AI systems are already categorising you, ranking your relevance, and determining whether you appear in their answers. This sprint fixes that.
The Context
Discovery no longer begins with your website.
Large language models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are increasingly shaping how B2B buyers discover, compare, and evaluate vendors. According to Forrester Research, 89% of B2B buyers now use generative AI as a source of self-guided information across every stage of their buying process.
Discovery is beginning inside AI-generated answers. By the time a buyer reaches your website, they may already have a shortlist, and you may not be on it.
This is not SEO optimisation for rankings. It is structural optimisation for AI-mediated B2B buying journeys.
Adoption of AI Search by Buyer Segment
B2B buyers show the highest adoption rates, reinforcing the structural shift in enterprise discovery behaviour.

McKinsey describes AI search as
"The new front door to the internet — a place where discovery, comparison, and evaluation increasingly occur inside AI-generated answers before buyers engage vendors directly."
The Risk
Three structural risks this sprint addresses
If your positioning is implicit, ambiguous, or inconsistently articulated, AI systems may omit you before buyers ever reach your website.
Category Drift
Being grouped too broadly or alongside the wrong competitors. AI systems may place you in a generic category that dilutes your positioning.
Authority Dilution
Being described generically despite genuine expertise and specialisation. Ambiguous signals get flattened into undifferentiated language.
Comparative Weakness
Competitors articulated more clearly in evaluation prompts. By the time a buyer shortlists vendors, the exclusion has already happened, silently.
Who This Is For
Built for established B2B companies.
Company characteristics
Established B2B business with a clear, defined service or solution offering
Selling into multi-step evaluation journeys involving multiple stakeholders
Website and foundational content already exist
Revenue-generating and past product-market fit
Leadership open to strategic positioning work and able to act on recommendations
Industries with strong structural fit
- · B2B professional services (consulting, legal, accounting, technology advisory)
- · B2B SaaS and software in competitive or crowded categories
- · Specialist solution providers (compliance, HR technology, ERP, cybersecurity)
- · Managed services and outsourced business functions
Strong fit: your team may be saying
-
"We show up in AI, but not consistently."
-
"We're grouped incorrectly in comparison answers."
-
"Our competitors are positioned more clearly."
-
"We're losing early-stage consideration before buyers even reach us."
Not a fit
- Early-stage startups still defining their offer
- B2C or impulse-driven purchasing environments
- Businesses without existing website content or foundational positioning
- Companies seeking traffic growth or SEO rankings

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Where do I start?
Every engagement begins with a short discovery call. During this call we share initial observations on your current AI visibility and determine whether the full diagnostic is the right next step. The diagnostic is a standalone engagement with no obligation to continue.
Does this replace SEO?
No. Search engine optimisation focuses on improving rankings in traditional search engines. This work focuses on how your company is categorised, represented, and positioned in AI-generated answers. The two can complement each other, but they address different discovery layers.
How is this different from content marketing?
Content marketing typically aims to drive traffic and brand awareness through ongoing publishing. This is not about volume or cadence. It focuses on structural clarity, explicit positioning, evaluation logic, and AI-readable authority signals. The goal is accurate representation in AI-mediated evaluation prompts, not content cadence.
Will this increase leads?
This work does not guarantee lead volume. It strengthens inclusion in high-intent AI prompts, categorisation accuracy, comparative positioning, and decision clarity. When these improve, qualified conversations tend to increase, but the engagement addresses structural representation, not lead generation targets.
How long does impact take?
It depends on existing content structure, category competitiveness, prompt volatility, and model updates. Some improvements in inclusion and categorisation can occur within weeks of structural changes. Others take longer. The diagnostic establishes a measurable baseline so shifts can be tracked over time.
What if the diagnostic finds nothing significant?
We will tell you directly. The diagnostic is designed to give you clarity, not to funnel you toward a larger engagement. If the findings do not warrant structural work, you will know exactly where you stand, and what, if anything, needs to change in future.
Next Steps
Most B2B companies assume they are being represented accurately in AI. Few have tested that assumption.
Submit the form and we will run a preliminary review of how your company currently appears across high-intent AI queries. You will receive a response within 3–5 working days.
Engagements are limited to a small number per quarter to ensure leadership-level depth and strategic rigour.
